Description[]
A woman with sharp eyes and a cool personality.
Her physique is like that of a model’s. Among the females in MILGRAM who are mostly laid-back characters, she is a rare case of someone who is logical and rational. She is quick-witted, and speaks up for herself.
Due to her appearance, behavior and words, she may come off as cold, but her blunt attitude does not bear any ill will. It can be said that she observes MILGRAM Prison even more thoroughly than Es themself, she may be gathering information for exchanges.
Background[]
Some hints were given about Kotoko's background in "Harrow", but for the time being, nothing has been confirmed.
She may not be all that she is letting on, as shown in MILGRAM Portal session while in the prison, she refers to there not being "enough information to make a move.." although any theories as to what this means have not been confirmed.
Personality[]
A logical and rational prisoner. Kotoko appears cold at first, but she means no harm. She observes everyone in MILGRAM and exchanges information. In the beginning of the program she had a very guarded personality which has eventually eased up a bit since interacting with her fellow prisoners.
She has a very warped moral compass, taking it upon herself to enact justice upon those she believes are guilty of sin, even amongst the other prisoners, brutally attacking Fuuta, Mikoto, and Mahiru after she was declared innocent in her first trial, leaving Fuuta's eye permanently damaged and Mahiru wheelchair bound. She later reveals that she feels no remorse for her actions and even stated that she would have done the same to Amane if given the chance.

Etymology[]
- Yuzuriha means "daphniphyllum macropodum, lever, pole, crowbar, carry on the shoulder" (
杠 , yuzuriha?). - Kotoko means "Japanese harp" (
琴 , koto?) and "child" (子 , ko?).
Trivia[]
- The name "Jacques Roulet", which appears on her cap, is a reference to a real-life murderer with the same name, who claimed to be a werewolf.
- Aside from Japanese, Kotoko can speak English. She can also use Chinese and Korean for basic day-to-day conversations.
- She learnt Chinese because of its popular usage, and Korean because she had learnt taekwondo before that.
- Kotoko has an older brother.
- Kotoko can do martial arts.
- She started learning them in elementary school.
- She spends her free time in MILGRAM training by drinking protein drinks and meditating.
- If MILGRAM has an arm-wrestling contest, Kotoko would be ranked second.[2]
- Kotoko's birth flower is the monstera.
